Review: More Yokan than Mochi but still yummy - As other reviewers have noted, this is not really mochi. It is more yokan like in texture, though not as dense as a traditional yokan. (think dense room temp jello as an approximation; softer to bite and less chewy than most gummy candy). The Yuzu flavor is true. It is not overwhelmingly sweet. I liked it.

**Q: How many candies in a bag?**
A: Indeed, the bag does not indicate how many candies are in the bag, and I happen to have only 3 candies left.  However, the bag does indicate that the net weight of the full bag is 300 g.  I have just weighed the individual candies I have left using a laboratory balance.  Each candy comes in its own individual wrapping.  The weight of a single candy with its wrapping is 13.00 g, and the weight of a single candy alone is 12.75 g.  Consequently, the number of candies originally in the bag was some where around 23 to 24 candies.

**Q: Dumb question but are these gluten free?**
A: Mochi is made with generally made with glutinous rice flour, but despite the name -- it does not contain gluten. In this instance 'glutinous' means sticky - not containing gluten.

**Q: Is there a list of ingredients ?**
A: Starch syrup, sugar, strawberry, juice concentrate, oblaat powder*, pectin, citric acid, sodium citrate, aroma chemicals, lecithin

*In Japan, oblaat is a thin, edible layer of starch used to wrap/enrobe some candies

A: Mochi is made with rice starch, generally. Yeah, it's gluten free.

This is not as sweet and flavorful as I expected, but I still find the subtle taste enjoyable. It’s not as chewy as a gummy bear and doesn’t stick to teeth like other gummy’s. Great size for a guilty pleasure and kids may enjoy this as a treat.

To say the least, it's not my favorite yuzu candy. The bag is a little big so there's a lot them for me to go through. The texture is great as a gummy with it being soft, squishy, quite firm, and in the shape of a cube. Though, the taste of it is very sweet but a little heavy on the yuzu peel oil which makes it taste like a yuzu perfume. It would've been a lot better if it were made with the yuzu juice to balance it out. Since it's unfortunately not made with yuzu juice, I most likely will not be buying it again. I'd actually give this 2.5 out of 5 stars because I like it but not enough to love it.
