It's not as smooth as Clairefontaine age notebooks, or Rhodiarama, which I prefer as my handwriting is all over the place with smooth nibs or paper. This paper gives more feedback making it much easier for me to control my handwriting and it looks so much better and so it is much more enjoyable for me to write. A couple of my Extra fine nibs feel a little more scratchy though.
