Review: As good as Wharfedale speakers - I can't talk about tiers and timing like the audiophiles , but I know what I like. I have been using the One More Quad Drivers and have been very pleased with them. They almost come up to the Sony WF-1000WM4's. The difference between Aonic 5 and the One More Quad Drivers is astonishing. They are in two completely different categories. The Aonic 5 are super crystal clear, you can hear everything in crisp detail and pick out every instrument and especially voices with extreme clarity. They have laser precision and show their studio pedigree. With the right recording they can make you feel as though you are standing right in the middle of the music. At times, sounds emerge which you weren't aware of before. This can lead to a new perception of the music, a new view of complex relationships. A new Gestalt. I think this may be partly what some reviewers refer to as 'musicality'. Because they bring out so much, they make you want to explore even more. It's a good thing they are so comfortable. You could wear them all day quite easily and they make you want to do that. We are talking a four times price difference between the Aonic 5's and the Quads, and the Quads aren't exactly cheap. In an instant direct comparison the Quads can sound muffled. I like the Quads very much and they are my go to earphones, but I was amazed by the stark difference, it's not that they are bad, it's just that they are not as sharp and crisp as the Aonic 5's. In many situations I actually prefer the Quads, when I want more bass body to voice and speech for example and a dark sound signature, which is most of the time. The razor sharp crispness of the Aonic 5's also exposes all that's going on in a recording, and sometimes it might make life easier just not to hear all the defects. But the Aonics are in a class of their own. To me the Aonic 5's are special, they allow me to listen to music as I have never heard before. And that is priceless. But, for most of the time I don't want the analysis. The Aonic 3's made me realise that. I am not an audiophile, and the Aonic 3 prove it. My perfect sound signature for earphones is the 1More Quad Driver, on the other side of the spectrum to the Aonic 3's. One review say that the Aonic 3's have an understated delivery. What he means by this is they "have no bass". Another, that low-end bass notes sound fantastic. Ugh! What? My hearing is pretty good, but I can't hear them. Unless you are referring to that clinical, anemic, empty, hollow low frequency. Is that what you call bass? I was brought up on syrupy, dark, deep bass voices coming out of a huge 1950's valve radio. Now that is what you call bass! And the 1More Quad Driver has it in spades. It's luxuriant, warm, smooth, rich, deep-toned, it envelopes you. The Aonic 3's don't have this. It makes voice and speech productions sound thin, anemic and lacking in body and depth. Movie soundtracks suffer the same fate. But, they might be accurate according to the audiophiles. They might be perfectly balanced, but the world isn't perfectly balanced. That's the problem. So why try and make it sound as though it is. In fact, all this Hi-Fi stuff has made me realise that I don't want Hi-Fi! I want Lo-Fi. I use the headphone socket on my Galaxy A20e, the cheapest they ever made, as an audio source for my Denon/Wharfedale stereo. Sacrilege! Do you know how awful the dacs are that they use in phones? I don't care! You know why, it sounds, fantastic! My internet radio and TV sound great. Good bass and mid-frequencies make speech and voice sound real and full bodied. Not anemic, razor sharp and artificial. In fact, I think I will start manufacturing huge 1950's valve radios. Of course they will have a socket round the back labelled "Aux" where you can plug in your record player. Lo-Fi, that's what we want. You just wait, it will bring the HiFi industry to its knees. Audiophiles will admit that Lo-Fi sounds better and that they were wrong. The future is Lo-Fi. And all because I bought a pair of Aonic 3's, Aonic 5's and 1More Quad Drivers.
Review: Definitely worth the extra - I previously ordered but returned a pair of 1More Treble Drivers, the smaller brother of the Quads, which although they sounded good, the in-line control looked cheap and fragile but more importantly didn’t work on my iPhone, I did experiment with a pair of Apple earbuds which with a few adjustments (see my review) did sound good but I just wanted something a bit more robust. I wasted my time with a pair of the much praised but ultimately useless Soundmagic E11’s before taking a punt on the significantly more expensive 1More Quad Drivers and I’m kicking myself why I didn’t just get them in the first place, the extra money you’ll spend on them is worth every penny. They come packaged in the premium 1More packaging, with the usual adapters, robust case and a multitude of silicon and foam tips, not liking foam tips, I used the 14.5mm silicon tips which had worked well for me when I tried the Triple drivers, inserted, twisted and pressed play and wow, now I know what the extra dosh goes on. I connect them to my iPhone with an Apple Lightning to 3.5mm jack and listening to Apple Music lossless is pure pleasure, highs, mids and lows are evidently separated, with bass definitely present when it’s supposed to be but not overpowering the highs and mids and not overwhelming the vocals, which themselves are crisp and clear. Ensuring the eq and sound check in my Apple Music settings are set to off, allows the music to be streamed as it was intended in the studio and the quads allow me to pick up nuances in the tracks I never before experienced even in tracks I’ve listened to a thousand times, they really are that good. Obviously sound is the reason we buy buds and these guys nail it but looks are also important and again the nail is hit on the head, they look and feel a sturdy, robust premium product, the inline control is metal, unlike the plastic one on the Triple’s but more importantly it works on my iPhone with a firm but tactile response working immediately. The fit is superb, insert, twist and they never feel loose and only need occasional adjusting, there is a degree of isolation, obviously not to the extent of high end buds but enough that any ambient noise did not interrupt or interfere with my listening. The 1More Triple’s are a great product but a side by side comparison with the Quads shows where the extra money you’ll spend on them goes, however looks aren’t everything and that extra money is also reflected in the Quads superior sound quality. You’ll not go wrong with the Triple’s but if you budget stretches towards affording the Quads, go for them, you won’t regret it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: are these orignal or fake one from Chaina**
A: They aren’t fake. 1More is a reputable company, making good quality products, including their IEMs. These are no exception.
Made in China is not necessarily a bad thing, anyway - so much of our electronic equipment is made there, even though designed elsewhere. Look at Apple.

**Q: Has anyone tried Triple Driver and can tell how much Quads are better?**
A: I own both the Triple Driver and the Quad Driver (I also have a pair of the Dual Driver Lightning earphones, I’m not obsessed honestly). There’s a bigger difference between the Dual and the Triple than there is between the Triple and the Quad. Personally I find the Quad to have a bigger and wider soundstage with more balance across the audio spectrum - bass, treble and mid frequencies are presented equally and without one dominating the other. The Triple drivers are still excellent but the soundstage is a little narrower, and they emphasise the middle frequencies a little more. I guess a lot depends on the music you listen to and the device you’re listening on too. I can tell you that Swedish melodic death metal sounds excellent on the Quad drivers.

**Q: iOS volume control ? Works ?**
A: Yes works with IOs

**Q: Looking for a big upgrade from my sony mdr x850 wired earphones. how would these compare?**
A: U would want Bose quite comfort 2 as sony to Xmi is not a upgrade

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Get a good source and prepare to be Blown AWAY!
*by P***0 on 10 June 2018*

I am totally blown by these earphones. I have been using them for about a month now. After comparison, I returned a new set of sennheiser Momentum 2.0 and sold my beloved Amperior's and kept these QUADS as to my hearing they are in a completely different league!! Seriously, you're missing out if you have not got these. I use an HTC A9 that has a good DAC to power them and the level of detail is unlike anything else I have ever heard on a pair of headphones. They don't fatigue you after hours of listening and that says a lot, the sound is warm and detailed without being harsh. Don't need to listen too loud either to get the quality out of them and they are good commuting. I can listen with them for hours. Treble detail is so nice, the voices are warm and life like and the bass is not too heavy but has a good powerful rumble when you get the isolation sorted well. Instrument separation is jaw dropping, I'm hearing new stuff on songs that I thought I knew well! The cable breathes quality and the metal finish is very classy. The metal clip is very hard to fit and chances are you'll open it too far, but nothing that a gentle bite with a pair of flat head pliers won't sort out. The memory foam tips irritated my ears and self destroyed after a couple of removals. The silicon tips are very good and I found the perfect size for me. I can't put my finger on anything I dislike about these earphones. From Talk Radio, Audio Book to any genres of music these earphones really bring life to the experience of listening. Very happy customer indeed.
