Choose the correct needle and go slowly. If you’re sewing over a bulky seam, then you need to use a hump jumper. (Google it if you don’t know how they work) However, I wouldn’t expect it to compete with an industrial sewing machine so it depends on what fabric and projects you intend using it for. I take it to my sewing group because it’s lightweight and easy to carry. It’s a bargain price when Amazon has it on special offer. I was a little apprehensive to buy this sowing machine at first as it is my first computeriser machin. I was a little scared at first ...but to my surprise even I found the instructions easy to understand and to find my way around the difference stitches. The machine is sturdy and not heavy. It's aplearanc is lovely. It's free motion is great (you don't need the peddle) and I am so pleased with it. I would really recommend for beginners as well as the seasonal sower.
