You'd think it might retain its curving being rolled up but NO it rolls out flat and a nice colour too (I got the Orange). You might get a tiny curve at the very ends but thats to be expected but you can flatten that if you reverse roll it once open. The black elasticated Bands in the picture around the Mat keep the mat rolled up well too. It is thick and very comfortable to lay on.
