Have used it on golf shoes that were slightly uncomfortable due to my big toe on each foot. I have stretched them a couple of times and felt noticeable difference. Good investment to salvage a nice pair of golf shoes. I used my pliers to tighten when they became tight as it became difficult to adjust by hand. You do need to protect the rear of the shoe to reduce contact from the adjustment knob.
