They are waterproof, except for around the label, where pee will soak through. They are convenient, as you can toss them in the washer and dryer, and eco-friendly compared to disposable mats. Few suggested improvements - add an elastic strap to the bottom to allow it to be transported while rolled but out-of-the-way of little fingers, and make it about 3 inches wider and longer.
