It appears partially deflated but I believe that is on purpose. The instructions that come with it say it's ready to go, so try it out that way for a week or so before you mess with the inflation. Immediately upon sitting on this in my leather office chair, I noticed it forces me to sit upright and not slouch which was one of the main reasons I got this, so success! I am also hopeful that it will work out some of these muscles that don't get a lot of use as a side benefit. It also feels comfortable to sit on. I can lean to the left or right, or wherever and feel movement and my body adjusting, so I think this is going to work great!
