Hello,Thanks for your question, COBLED strip is a low voltage product, you must use the power supply/adapter, please do not connect the COBLED strip directly to AC110V or AC220V power supply, otherwise the LED strip will be burnt out.You need an external power supply with enough power, i.e. for 24V/45W, or 24V/50W etc.

For 5m12V Flexible COB LED Strip Lights ,You can cut the strip light along the cut mark (every 25mm). And you can connect them with COB connectors or welding.Our COB Strip is low voltage, which has a pressure drop, the longer length, the more obvious pressure drop, so we recommend use 1 to 2 splitter cable to connect 2 strips in parallel, which can stay same brightness, not in series.

**Q: Can I wire this direct to the 12V supply on my boat (from liesure batteries)?**
A: Depends how good your regulation is. If you supply goes upto 18v say when generator is running, they will get very bright and fail prematurely.  I would use a 12v regulator with a low drop out voltage.

I ordered this for use below my kitchen cabinets to illuminate my worktops - my existing kitchen lighting is just from a centre-mounted ceiling light, so wherever you work you're always lit from behind, which is infuriating. This solved the issue and I can now see what I'm doing! The warm white is easy on the eyes and the dotless lighting truly is dotless - the reflection in the (polished granite) worktops is a solid bar of even light, which is far more pleasant that if the individual leds were visible. The mounting adhesive is effective, though I mounted them on a strip of aluminium to act as a heatsink, rather than directly to the bottom of the cupboards. No power supply is provided, but pretty much any 12V DC supply will work - you, like me, probably have one kicking around at the back of a cupboard somewhere. I just used a power supply with a simple wall-mouted switch for on/off, although in-line contollers can be bought for a few pounds that will give remote control of brightness, modes etc if that's required - just remebember to get one compatible with 12V led strips. The light is pleasantly bright and the leds don't get overly warm in use (the aluminium strip probably helps with this). It seems a well-designed high-quality led strip at a reasonable price. Recommended if you don't mind sourcing your own power supply.
