There is no way that the trunk will ever close on your hand if you have replaced both at the same time. I installed these on a convertible Mustang trunk lid. I realize that my old set were worn out but these are very strong. There is no way that the trunk will ever close on your hand if you have replaced both at the same time. It is very easy to replace without any tools, simply twist the ball end and the strut will roll off the connector.
