It also has a bit of tartness. Great with tea and lemonade! Perfect soda water tonic! I am inspired to add a touch to home made plum jam and perhaps quince jelly. Love it. This is simply the most delicious and well formulated rose syrup possible. Only two tablespoons in a large drink and it is bursting with fresh rose flavor and also is not too sweet. The issue with the cheap syrups is that they are too sweet and not potent like this one is. This seems like the most concentrated that rose flavoring can get before it might taste too strong so props to the food chemists that whipped up this rich rosey elixir of hydrodistilled goodness. I was not paid for this review.
