They sent me the newer version at no cost. After testing with the new cables, which included a lot of cable movement / adjustments while the RAID arrays were built and running, there were no dropped drives or reliability issues at all. Everything worked perfectly. I have two sets of cables (four cables in all) in order to connect those expander cards to an external chassis.I first purchased a set of cables from another manufacturer that were twice the cost of these ones. When I came across these cables by 10Gtek and saw the much lower price, and the high user ratings, I thought these would be a great purchase for the second expander card. Both sets of cables have been in operation for a couple months now.Verdict:These less expensive cables have dropped connections numerous times, causing arrays to have to be rebuilt. Thankfully we haven't lost any data yet.
