I used heavy duty 2 sided tape to adhere to my bookshelf where I had been piling my journals. I stuck it onto my bookshelf's inner panel vs. my wall. So the acrylic shelf will move with the bookshelf if I ever change its position. The adhesion of the tape is important. I first used the command strips and they didnt hold. It comes with anchors/holes and screws also if you want to mount it to a wall.
