I used them as a back up for what the nurses call "chucks," which are the larger adult size pads. After putting the chucks in place I would lay the baby pads in strategic places on top of the chucks. The baby chucks would catch most, if not all of the stool that would spill out of the adult diapers. In most cases all I had to do, besides change the diaper, was to pull out the baby pads and replace them without having to roll my wife back and force to change the larger chucks.
