## Description

Ernie Ball is proud to announce two new ball-end ukulele sets featuring a .030” gauge wound low G string. This new gauge combination is ideal for players who want to tune their ukulele using “Low G” tuning, which is more similar to traditional guitar tuning. These new Ukulele strings are made from 100% nylon monofilament, while the wound G string is made from nylon multifilament wrapped with 80/20 bronze. Ernie Ball Ukulele strings feature ball end construction for easy installation in traditional clear resin for a bright, balanced tone with excellent projection and black resin for a warm, rich tone with percussive attack.

Review: These are worth trying! - I have ten ukuleles in my house that are all different when it comes to size, tone woods, construction, and features (tuners, bridge, nut, saddle, etc.). Here’s one thing I know: every instrument responds differently to strings based on all the construction variables. I put this set of low G and black nylon strings on my solid spruce top uke to mellow it out a bit, and now it is perfect. With the previous fluorocarbon strings it was just too snappy sounding. The Ernie Ball black nylons give it outstanding sound with good projection, clear ringing with each note, and the black color is a sweet look to boot. Interestingly, I had a set on a high gloss solid mahogany tenor ukulele and I thought the sound was just ok. Not bad, but not great. It’s important to note that It’s hard to call a string “bad” (like reviewers often do) when it’s just not the string set’s fault that it is poorly matched with the instrument. That being said, it’s a crying shame that many of the instruments being sold these days come with the thick synthetic nylon marketed as similar to old school gut. Sure, those strings are durable and have good tuning stability, but they are thick and stiff, and the tone is often dull with a C string “thuds.” Those strings actually ARE bad, but I understand why uke manufactures include them on entry level and value ukuleles — it prevents new players from breaking strings b when they are mistakenly using guitar picks, or they are writing bad reviews because the instrument goes out of tune easily when new. Like all nylon, these E.B.’s will take some time for them to stretch out and stabilize. That is not a flaw, but the reality of nylon strings. I am pleased with these Ernie Ball strings and will keep using them on one or two specific instruments. Price is right and they are easy to play. BIG BONUS with these is the ball ends. It makes stringing a snap. I wish more string guys followed suit.
Review: Amazing Quality, Affordability, And Sound - I recently purchased a new tenor ukulele due to my old one breaking, and had to find some good quality and affordable strings. These exceeded my expectations! They not only were affordable, but look and sound amazing. I ordered the black low G ones they were easy to install and I didn't have any issues with them wanting to snap or break. Now that I have had them for around a month they don't seem to have broken down in a bad way and they play just as well as when they were installed! They are also staying in tune well. If you are looking for some good ukulele strings look no further!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: This works for tenor?**
A: These work with Concert and Soprano ukuleles.

**Q: How many in package?**
A: 4

**Q: What guage equals what note ? very confusing to me ( a newbie) that the packages only have numbers and not notes. help!**
A: Directions come in or on the package and strings are color coordinated. But, if I remember right, the two narrowest strings G and A (they are identical for this package) are on either end. The fattest one is the C string, third string (from right to left). The E is the 2nd string. Change on string at a time to keep tension on the instrument. Youtube has lots of tutorials to help you.

**Q: do you have low G for tenor?**
A: I have. I found that some pieces don't sound as good with a low g. So, I have pretty much returned my tenors to high g. High g is more universal.
