Most new light fixtures use aluminum instead of the traditional copper which is used in existing houses. Why you ask? Aluminum is cheaper. BUT that complicates things & the importance of this wire-nut cannot be overstated. When you have the termination of two different materials you need to use the proper protection. This wire-nut emits a clear coat onto the wiring to ensure arcing doesn’t happen.
