The Good: - It's a tough container. The plastic is thicker than most you'll find out there and it can take a beating without falling apart or cracking. - The latches are solid. 3 substantial latches clamp down tightly keeping the contents secure. They won't come undone at the worst moment or if you fumble the container and it takes a spill. Other containers have little plastic latches that aren't secure by any means and can pop open at the worst time. - Hinges are independently molded with the top and bottom halves and can also take a hit without breaking. The top of the storage area is larger than the bottom, hence the other dimensions in the other answers. I like my cell phone to sit flat on the bottom and not at an angle. **Q: If this fell in the water with about a pound of weight in it would it float** A: I just tested it for You. I put at least a pound worth of stuff in it , which filled it almost completely. About 1/4 of the box remained above water. I hope this helps You. **Q: Is it fully submergible?** A: Someone gave me a used one with the clamp missing off the long side of the box. I put a piece of toilet paper inside and then submerged the box in a bucket of water. Figured i better check it out before trusting it to protect my phone on the river. Checking every 15 - 20 minutes, I noticed no water inside till around the hour and fifteen minute mark. Even then, it was just a little. **Q: Has anyone tested its durability? Such as dropping it from an extreme height?** A: I bought about 15 for my white water rafting guides to use in their trips to carry their phones. So far so good.
