I have super thick, wavy hair. This straightener has been the best I have found and does a fantastic job quickly. Better than any Chi I have used or any other brand. I recently bought one for my step daughter, who is biracial and has super thick curly hair, so she can have her own. I only paid like $20 for it, so it was a pretty good price. I love the fact that it comes with a little holder for it that you can literally place on any counter top. I read a lot of reviews online after I had purchased the straightener and I was a little skeptical. After using the straightener once, I liked it a lot. I will warn you, the straightener does tug at your hair at first, but it will stop after the first time you use it. After that, it's a decent straightener. It gets VERY hot; which can be both a disadvantage and an advantage at the same time. As long as you're careful--it's a good thing. Just be sure to use a protecting spray for your hair (I use Garnier Fructis). I've now had this straightener for about two months now and it's done pretty well by me. It does get really hot as the other review mentioned - you can't touch the outside of it at all while straightening.
