The rubber comes off as little bits in food** A: I really wanted to buy this mixer but will not only because of the plastic on the beaters. I have done a lot of research and there are many complaints of plastic coming off into the food after a year of use. Health is priority one so decided to buy the KitchenAid even though it is less power. **Q: Did Breville ever fix the issue with the rubber coming off the beaters into the food? I need to know this before buying!** A: No. I called them and after several months that sent replacement beaters, but rubber is coming off. My husband found rubber in his banana bread this morning. 😵‍💫 I need to buy a new mixer now because they do not make beaters without the rubber. **Q: Does the cord swivel from side to side?** A: The BHM800SIL Handy Mix does feature a swivel-movement power cord. **Q: Has anyone used this without the rubber coverings? I wonder if it mixes just as well without them.** A: The rubber coverings are part of the beater and cannot be removed. They are molded to the beaters. But I don’t know why you would even want to remove them. They make the beaters very versatile. You can use them in a ceramic coated pot or Teflon pot with no worry of scratching the pot v ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by M***K on August 31, 2025* ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by D***K on November 28, 2023* ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by E***G on February 16, 2026* ## Frequently Bought Together - Breville Handy Mix Scraper BHM800BTR, Black Truffle - Cuisinart Mixing Bowl Set, Stainless Steel, 3-Piece, CTG-00-SMB - Cuisinart MCH-4 Core Custom 4-Cup Mini Chopper, White and Stainless --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/467738980-breville-bhm800btr-handy-mixer-for-baking-black-truffle](https://www.desertcart.us/products/467738980-breville-bhm800btr-handy-mixer-for-baking-black-truffle) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-11-01*
