The Furi Pro 8-Inch blade (20 cm) Cook's Knife is a workhorse and is the go to choice for everyday tasks like chopping and cutting meats. This knife will become an extension of your arm. Engineered for design, innovation and performance. Furi Knives designed and established in 1996 by leading Australian engineers and international chefs, has won respect, awards and popularity for its exceptional performance, designs and durability. Furi knives feature a seamless, all Japanese stainless steel construction. The smooth, seamless contours eliminate food and dirt traps for the ultimate in safety and hygiene. The blade is constructed from a high carbon stainless steel alloy that is different from typical German and modern Japanese blades because the alloy is not VrMoV based. Rather, it is high carbon and therefore tougher and easier to sharpen and also holds its edge a long time. Chefs and experienced knife users find it is more like carbon steel knives, but with corrosion resistance. Furi achieves a blade that is both strong and sharp by grinding carefully to very thin shoulders (for less cutting resistance), but with a strong cutting edge at 17 degrees (not 15). Our blades are the only ones that sit right in the middle between very sharp but fragile Japanese blades, and very strong but not so sharp German blades. The best practical combination possible for chefs. Developed for the professional chef; Furi knives are tough, weighty and more comfortable with a reverse wedge handle design that resists slip toward the blade known as hand creep. This leads to much less fatigue for heavy knife users (and therefore less carpal tunnel and related strain injuries, common to chefs). The optimum bolster design allows the user to fully sharpen the knife to the blade heel while providing a comfortable finger rest. Furi Cutlery offer superior performance and comfort. 25 year guarantee; designed to last in the toughest kitchens. ## Features - Furi Pro 8" Cook's Knife is the workhorse in the kitchen; a classic choice for cutting meat, makes light work of the heaviest vegetables - Furi knives are known for their cutting edges being finished for extreme sharpness, tempered for edge retention and toughness and their seamless construction to ensure ultimate food handling hygiene - Innovative reverse wedge handle provides a more secure grip; reduces hand fatigue and repetitive strain injuries - Japanese stainless steel blade provides superior durability, stain and corrosion resistance; provides extremely sharp blade edge honed to ideal shape for ultimate sharpness - Hand wash knives in warm soapy water with the blade pointed away and dry thoroughly after washing; 25 year guarantee ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01N01UIW1 | | Blade Color | Silver | | Blade Edge | Plain | | Blade Length | 8 inches | | Blade Material | Stainless Steel | | Blade Material Type | Stainless Steel | | BladeLength | 8 inches | | Brand | Furi | | Brand Name | Furi | | Color | Japanese Stainless Steel | | Construction Type | Forged | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 77 Reviews | | EU Spare Part Availability Duration | 25 years | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00850891007035 | | Handle Material | Stainless Steel | | Included Components | Cook's Knife | | Item Length | 8 inches | | Item Type Name | Cook's Knife | | Item Weight | 13.92 ounces | | Manufacturer | New Metro Designs | | Manufacturer Part Number | FUR101E | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | 25 year guarantee | | Material Type | Stainless Steel | | Model Number | FUR101E | | Number of Items | 1 | | Size | 8" | | UPC | 032622023914 813089011016 850891007035 | ## Product Details - **Blade Material:** Stainless Steel - **Brand:** Furi - **Color:** Japanese Stainless Steel - **Handle Material:** Stainless Steel - **Blade Edge:** Plain ## Images ![Furi Knives Pro 8" Cook's Knife, Japanese Stainless Steel, Seamless Construction, Reverse Wedge Handle - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41rh6Y1du0L.jpg) ![Furi Knives Pro 8" Cook's Knife, Japanese Stainless Steel, Seamless Construction, Reverse Wedge Handle - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71EPaGmp-gL.jpg) ![Furi Knives Pro 8" Cook's Knife, Japanese Stainless Steel, Seamless Construction, Reverse Wedge Handle - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71PzltKNxpL.jpg) ![Furi Knives Pro 8" Cook's Knife, Japanese Stainless Steel, Seamless Construction, Reverse Wedge Handle - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61gNnkd9cgL.jpg) ![Furi Knives Pro 8" Cook's Knife, Japanese Stainless Steel, Seamless Construction, Reverse Wedge Handle - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61J0ppUozmL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Where is this knife made?** A: Made in China.
