Review: Quality product! - Back in college, I used to work in a bike shop that sold low-mid price bicycles. I spent a lot of time assembling and repairing them. Lots of times, lower-end bikes had lots of issues: bent parts, untrue wheels, misaligned brakes, etc. I had never heard of the Royal Baby brand before, but after reading other reviews, I decided to get one for my eight year old son. Of course, when it arrived, I gave it my usual thorough walkthrough. Initially, I noticed that the parts seemed to be good quality. Welds were solid and the finish was perfect. Assembly was just like any other bicycle: pedals, handlebars, seat, accessories. All parts lined up perfectly on the first try. No fighting, no twisting and pulling, none of that. It also comes with some cheap tools to help with assembly, so you don't have to worry about finding a pedal wrench, or the right size metric allen. Once together, I started to look at the mechanics. Tires were very true. There was no noticeable wobble to them, which was abnormal for bikes in the $100-150 range. The brakes were adjusted perfectly. They were centered on the rim and had the perfect amount of pull. Overall, it seems like a quality bike for the price and I am pleased with the purchase.

**Q: Is this bike pretty light ? I have bought a bmx type bike for another son and it is so heavy makes it harder to pedal**
A: In my opinion this is not a light bike, however this is what makes it sturdy. My 3.5 years old did not find it dificult to pedal. This opinion is subjective - check the specifications of the bike to get exact weight.

**Q: Does this bike have coaster brakes?**
A: YES, they do! At least the two I bought do, I bought two bikes at different times and they both have coaster brakes as well as a handbrake for the front wheel.  Both bikes are the smallest size, I think 12", so maybe the larger versions don't.   Both of the twins love them and use only the coaster brakes so far.

**Q: Has anyone found this bike to be too heavy for their child?**
A: Yes bike is way too heavy for my 5 year old. Purchased it in 2020 for his 4th birthday. He’s about to turn 6 and it’s still too heavy for him. Our son is very skinny not sure if that matters but he does really good with everything else— scooters, roller skates, skateboard. He can’t seem to hold weight of bike.
