There are three main reasons for this that I have found so far:1. All the text on the display is in Japanese or Chinese and the temperature is in celcius. Luckily I wanted to use the insulation function and it just happened to be the only function that allowed the temperature to be changed - that's probably the only way I could figure out how to use it. Good luck if you are trying to use any of the other functions (boiling, thawing, etc).2. The cord and charging base are awkward for use while driving.3. The inner chamber that holds the liquid is not removable from the main electronic part of the unit, so washing it is very tricky (can't be submerged or have water run over it).Ultimately, it stopped working after two uses. It gave me two different errors - one for low liquid level (not possible because it was full at the time) and one for tube temperature above 140 degrees C (also not possible because I had just turned it on and my coffee would have been boiling violently at that temperature). I'm not sure if we got some water in it while washing it which might have shorted it out or something, but this was just the final blow. You need to use some translator app.After using an app, I found out that the functions were arranged as per the order that was shown on the instruction. I selected the function BOIL and waited for over 30 minutes but it didn't boil at all.
