I did take the turntable out so I could inspect it, & am very impressed. It's a good weight, and is level & steady, so there should be no cake catastrophes due to weak plastic wobbles or breaks from an extra large or heavy cake. The turntable glides silently, smoothly, and is very easy to spin & control. I am very impressed with this product, & was really surprised to find the quality level as high as it was at this price point. I'm honestly very tempted to order another one for myself.

**Q: My biggest fear is the cake sliding and ruin it. How secure is this turntable? I don't want to buy it and then regret it because it does not work.**
A: I haven't had and issues with the cakes sliding. I love my Kootek.  My granddaughters use it too. No problems!!

**Q: Does this turn with ball bearings?**
A: Yes. The ball bearings create such a smooth, quiet turning.

All buyers beware -- do NOT put this in the dishwasher. My husband ruined mine. Completely unsalvageable.

**Q: Are these products FDA approved?**
A: The US FDA regulates food contact surfaces. Cookware and utensils fall under this category. The FDA does not require approval for every piece of cookware or utensil before it hits the market, but the materials from which it is constructed must be “generally regarded as safe” (GRAS) and it must be free of hazardous defects and design flaws to be in compliance with the FD&C act. I love this thing and it needs more stars. This thing spins so easy and the quality for the price s great! I use it every day. I have 3 others but this one is my favorite. It is made of aluminum and not cheap plastic so it has some weight to it but not too heavy. It fits easily in the cabinets as well and it’s so easy to use. I love that it looks pretty too for my pictures.
