The MARTego 122001 safety blade cutter features an easy-to-use automatic blade retraction system. Designed for all normal cutting jobs, especially box-slitting, the MARTego's ergonomically squeeze lever is made out of aluminum and a soft plastic component that provides comfort ability and non-slip handling. This quality knife is designed for the use of both the right and left hand. The retracting safety blade requires no extra tools to change the blade, and has a 2-edge/4-point blade for extra economy. The MARTego easily cuts through cardboard, plastic box strappings, cardboard box adhesive tapes, plastic and paper bags or sacks, stretch wrap and shrink wrap, paper, sheet material, and more.

Works great and safest box cutter I've ever used. I'm a safety conscious person, but even then, there have been times in the past where I've left the blade open or didn't recognize it wasn't fully retracted with other models. This can be dangerous when grabbing quickly, especially if left in a drawer or tool box. This design prevents this from happening. If you use a box cutter in your home to open packages, and you have kids; then this is the safest box cutter I've ever used. In addition to the trigger, it automatically retracts as soon as you finish your cut (even with the trigger engaged). I don't know how they do it, but it works great. Again, if you have kids in the house, this is the one for you.
