**Q: How long is the actual chess play part of the board?**
A: This is not true, you are wrong! 
The chess play part (just the squares) has 26 cm = approx. 10 inches! The detachable table has 28 cm = 11 inches. 
This bothers me a lot, because I really relied on the dimensions you provided. The entire game is not even 14 inches, it is 33 cm = 13 inches! :(

**Q: What metal is used to make the chess pieces?**
A: I am not sure, but they are solid and have a nice heft to them.
