Review: Turn your doors Smart :) - Disclaimer: I have a lot of TAPO devices (I really mean a lot). Due to my work, I have a tendancy to move a lot. So changing alarm system on a regular basis can be a pain. And I stumbled onto TAPO a year ago (and changed houses during that year) and clearly, it's really easy to set up. I have 2 of these currently installed on doors, and they work really nicelly, instant notification on my phone when the door opens, when it stays open, when it closes. Simple to install into the app, really responsiv, it adds a nice layer of security to our house. As we moved houses last summer, I removed all of our TAPO products from our previous home and installed them in the new one. No issues to transfer and removing the T110 from their previous spots showed the high quality of the adhesive. They stayed in place nicelly and when removed, the adhesive was easy to clean off ! I recently bought the TAPO H500 directly from TP-Link and switched the T110 from the previous base to the H500 without any compatibility problem. Everything went smoothly. All in all, easy to install, reliable, cheap and long lasting !!
Review: Solid Performance and Peace of Mind After a Year - I’ve got two of these sensors fitted on the front and back door. After over a year of use, I’ve only just had a low battery warning on the front door, which is easily the busiest in the house. While the back one is still going strong, very impressed so far. The automation features through the Tapo app open up loads of possibilities. With kids constantly running in and out, it's great to get alerts when a door has been left open. It gives a real peace of mind knowing the house is secure and helps keep the heat in too. Additionally the alarm trigger for unauthorised entry works perfectly as well and can be set while away or set times i.e Late/AM. See video. One of my main concerns was whether the sensor would fit properly, as our doors aren’t completely flush. Thankfully, even with the gap as pictured (Claims to support 15mm), they still register open and close accurately. While I’m only using them on doors, they’d also be handy for checking that windows are closed while you are out if that's what you need. Pros: - Quick and easy to install/configure - Battery replacement is straightforward - Reliable detection - Affordable Cons: Needs a Tapo Hub to work, but on the plus side, the hub doubles as an alarm and supports plenty of other Tapo devices if you plan to expand your setup like I have.

**Q: Can you use this h100 hub with C420 cameras?  I can't find the H200 sold separately and need a second hub as using cameras in diff buildings**
A: No, Tapo H100 cannot support Tapo C420 Cameras. The Tapo H200 will be released in later Dec.

**Q: Thermostat and smart plug can I just use the tapo app to controll minimum and maximum temperature to turn appliances on and off ?**
A: you would need to add a tapo hub, the thermostat won't communicate directly to your router as this takes a lot of battery power, instead it communicates with the hub which plugs directly into a power socket, from there you can download and control a tapo smart socket via the tapo app.  Having said all that, I bought one to control the humidity in my chameleon vivarium and it was worse than hopeless so I've ditched it.  Money wasted!

**Q: Anyone know the maximum operating temperature for the door sensor? I want to use one in an external post box and receive an alert when it's opened?**
A: Hi,

Tapo T100 Operating Temperature: 0 ºC– 40 ºC (32°F–104°F )

**Q: Are there parts in the box to fit this sensor to offset doors and windows (i.e. those that are not level with the frame)?**
A: It comes with sticky foam pads. You can double up the pads on one half for offset frames

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works out of the box and easy to install

We bought three of these to include it in our Tapo smart home kit. It works like a charm out of the box, and the battery seem to hold up well. We have our hub quite far from the place and it can still connect to it easily and give the triggers very quickly without fail. The tapo app is also very good. It is very easy to automate stuff and put alarms and organise what tapo calls smart automation in case of a trigger. We also have few tapo cameras and smart plugs, with all of these along with the tapo app, it makes smart automation seemless. It is a very nice product to have if you are in the tapo eco-system. The sensors are also detected by Alexa automatically. We did not use the sticker that came with the sensor to stick, we used a removable 3M sticker, which seems more sensible to do if you have to remove it in the future. It would be better if tapo include these removable stickers instead of the permanent one, which provides options for the users to either keep it permanent or removable in the future.
