I do think that it might just need a different kind of screw meant to be used in brick and a drill strong enough to drive the screw in. Maybe customer service at Amazon might have a book of specs with the info you need. **Q: Patio door an you use on a patio door?** A: I don't use mine on a patio door and I am not certain it would work on a patio door. Mine is screwed into the door frame, in between the big wood door and the storm door. I use it just as shown in the picture above. If the patio door frame is wood and you could put it on the front or back of the door and still find it useful, that might work. You couldn't put it at the end of the door or on the door frame because then you couldn't close the door. Good luck! **Q: Where are my screws?** A: The screws come with the door handle.
