Review: Perfect! - I ordered two of these. One to keep cat food and the other to waterglass duck eggs. The glass is thick and it was extremely well packed. I knew what I was getting with the lids because I looked at all the other reviews. The ring to seal the lid is stiff plastic and I'm not sure how well it works as a seal. I might modify the lids myself but they are okay as they are, that's just me being finicky. They aren't as aesthetically pleasing as the containers but they are functional. For an extremely large glass container I am beyond happy with this purchase and I love the way they look in my kitchen.

**Q: Would this be appropriate for long term food storage ( 5 years plus)???**
A: That depends on what you are storing. The silicon ring on the lid is decent and probably air tight, but the lid is a pull-off and I wouldn’t count on it being air tight.

**Q: Can this huge container hold my 10 lbs of dog food?**
A: Yes, I measured it, the jar can hold 20 pounds of dog food. It’s a very nice jar and thick.

The glass is thick and well made. Seams run up both sides which are kind of sloppy but not a deal breaker. I've used it for a planted shrimp breeding tank and it has worked well.
