I was amazed as to how much lint (2 a grocery bag full of crap...) had been trapped over the years. It was a fire hazard waiting to happen. I picked this kit as it came with the snap in connectors on the extension pulls vs the screw on type. Always afraid that the screw on version would come loose and create more problems getting stuck inside the vent during cleaning.The brush head was of good size and pulled the crud out with ease. Just jam the brush head and pull in and out along the side vent walls for a good scrubbing. Have a shop vac handy and trash bag next to you to simply cleaning. Our dryer now takes up less to dry a batch of clothes. I wish I had done this a lot sooner. :)Pro tip -+ If your dryer vent is longer than a couple of feet, clean from inside vent and suction any lint and proceed to work on outside exhaust working inward as well to ensure thorough cleaning.+ Duck tape a fine mesh bag on the vent exhaust to catch any debris and use the shop vac hose from the inside and blow all the crud out at the very end. You will find some remnant lint still trapped so a good blow of the shop vac will take care of anything remaining. If you don't use a mesh bag, be ready to walk around the outside to pick up scattered lint.+Wear some old clothes. Will go around a 90 deg bend but don't expect it to go around multiple bends like the setup in my Father's house - that is just expecting too much. Long reaches from inside the house are awkward because you have up to 20 feet of rod waving around - works best if you keep adding sections as you work further into the duct. Rods snap together very well, a little bit hard to separate them again, really need three hands.Did a great job of getting damp matted fiber out of our vent duct - and the amount of stuff it pulled out was kind of amazing and kind of disgusting at the same time.
