Personally I found the button back closure very feasible to do myself -- the loop the button goes into is stretchy elastic, so I just patiently pulled it wide & popped the button in. The material thickness feels like enough for summer but also thick enough that not see through. Bonus for nursing moms, the top part is very easily pulled down and has a lot of stretch to it. I am very post partum 5'0 and currently sitting at 145 pounds , the small fits pretty well but if you wanted the mid section a bit looser a medium may work better .
