I CAN say, however, that I have used them also for polymer clay, and I can speak to their wonderful qualities in that field, having had an amazing experience with them for over 20 years now. You can use Pan Pastels on uncured (preferred) clay, and NEVER worry about it not working - it will stay put through any sort of condition you can imagine. It survives through the baking process, even multiple bakings, and looks as fresh and beautiful as it did when you first applied it, the same as it does when you apply it on Pastelmat when using it for artwork (as in Snakey). I don't consider myself an "artist," but I'm having a ball using these. I know they're expensive, but they're actually NOT when you think of how little you use at a time. Compared to pastel sticks, you are using barely a fraction of the amount. If you take the time to compare the two, you will see. **Q: Should this binder be solid not powder?**
A: It is a pressed powder ( like ladies make-up, blusher etc.)

**Q: Does this work with different brands of pastels?**
A: PanPastels work well with most pastel brands....but I find there is no color other than your initial pastel color choice.  I use this particular pastel as a blender of color(s).  I find it moves the color of choice without changing it and is alsoexcellent in the subtle blending together of several colors. Although not necessary I "set" my colors by very lightly spraying with ANY hairspray.

**Q: Does this single pan come with any soft tools?**
A: No, single pans don't come with tools. Only the multi-pan sets come with the soft sponge tools.

**Q: Is this 840.7?**
A: Yes.  Paynes Grey Tint is 840.7.

Love using PanPastels. They are a game changer in being able to block in texture quickly to achieve a beautiful rich color. First I'm just really happy Amazon had these particular pastels. PanPastel are of the best quality and I really needed two colors, to fix a Breyer that came with a little damage. I hope as I explore making customs that Amazon will have all the colors I need. PanPastel maybe a little costly but for the money you get an amazing product. They go on smooth and are easy for a beginner like me to use. They are also easy to store, because they come in cute little dishes that fit in a any small plastic storage container. Can't wait to use these.
