You can easily attach lights and feeders if needed. We used a large tarp on the bottom with hooks/clamps to keep the bedding inside. The chicks love all of the room! It's working great but getting them out is puzzle. **Q: Does this hold up to rain? Will it rust?** A: I have not used it outside. In my personal opinion, as it is, it will not hold up to rain; however, I would give it a coat of rustoleum clear coat (comes in a spray). It is a nice containment area and I use it for my rabbits. This fits perfectly into our run. We have 9 chicks in here and they have plenty of space. It was easy to assemble. The quality is good for the price. There is no predator protection to this so you may need to modify in order to make it safer.
