They may have the powder needed. **Q: Does it actuallyIgnite** A: Yes! You need to get some thin fuse (I find it at gun shows). Or just use some fuses from some leftover bottle rockets. Start small with the powder cause you can put in too much and blow up your cannon. It’s pretty accurate too. **Q: I wanted to now what are the measurements for the fuse I need to buy?** A: 1.5mm or less **Q: What type of gun powder.** A: I honestly don’t remember but I know that I know I couple people that own gun shops and I still couldn’t get the right flint or gun powder!! I have a small collection of miniature canons, crossbows, guns and catapults. This small cannon fits right in. It comes packed inside a small box that looks like a small treasure chest, along with some protective foam and some BBs (cannon balls). Some people appear to have been able to rig this up to actually fire a BB by using a small amount of firecracker powder or black powder, but I would not recommend it. I just can't. I picked up some black powder and went outside to try this out. After several hours of trying to get a 'bang' and a launch of a bb all I had to show for my efforts was the need to drill out the bb three times and one successful attempt at getting the bb out of the barrel under 'gun powder power' alone. It went all of 6 inches.Build quality seems excellent and the presentation box is really nice, but I just could not get it to fire correctly. I had more fun just pouring black powder on the ground and dropping a match.I will say that I did use a very small drill bit to enlarge the fuse hole slightly so I could get a 'regular' fuse in place. I don't know if I'm tamping too much, not enough whatever. No clue.
