You need a spanner as well as the Allan key which comes with it. It’s also quicker and easier with another pair of hands but I eventually got it together myself. Took me about 20 mins to carefully self assemble it. If you have 2 persons, can be done in 10 mins. Need a wrench (not included) and Allen key (included). All in, very stable shelf with tiny footprint. If your hands are large, you may find it a bit difficult to take the dumbbells out due to the width of the holder, but overall I am happy with the purchase. I am fitting this rack with a pair of 8 , 10 , 12, 15 and 20 lbs. If you have significantly heavy set of weights from 16 to 40 lbs, this rack will not fit, as the dumbbells will be too big for the vertical space it provides. Hence, i would say, if you have 5 pairs, starting with 6 - 8 lbs and ending with 25 lbs, it should fit fine! After using this for 2 weeks, I realised that you CAN actually fit 20 to 40 lbs dumbbells, if you like. As stated by others this rack is mostly for smaller weights but I managed to make it work with pairs of 15kg, 12,5kg, 10kg and 7,5kg.
