## Description

Liquitex offers the broadest range of acrylic mediums to inspire creativity at every stage of the painting process. Liquitex Fluid Mediums perform much in the way that their name implies, they are fluid in nature and reduce viscosity of heavier paints and gels. They tend to self-level and do not retain brushstrokes. Liquitex Fluid Mediums modify acrylic paints in a variety of ways and contain acrylic resins to maintain or enhance adhesion and durability. Liquitex Matte Medium Fluid Painting Medium creates a matte, non-reflecting finish when added to acrylic colors. Mix into any acrylic paint to increase transparency and extend color, increase matte sheen, increase film integrity, ease flow of paint and add flexibility and adhesion of paint film. Mix with Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish to produce a semi-gloss or satin medium. Opaque when wet, translucent when dry. APPLICATIONS: AS EXTENDER: Mix with Liquitex Soft Body Artist Color to extend volume and increase translucency while maintaining viscosity. Mix with Liquitex Heavy Body Artist Color or Basics Acrylic Color to extend volume and increase translucency while decreasing paint viscosity. AS FIXATIVE: Use as a matte fixative over artwork to decrease gloss or shine. Mix 1 part Matte Medium to 1 part distilled water and apply with atomizer or airbrush. Excess medium applied to the surface may cause fogging. AS GROUND: Recommended fluid medium to use as a transparent ground (size) with excellent tooth and adhesion instead of gesso. This will allow the color and texture of the support to show through. EXTERIOR MURALS: If the support or wall is somewhat smooth, a coat of Matte Medium should be brushed, or two coats sprayed, onto the surface prior to applying a gesso. **Q: Is this what I should use to transfer a photo to cloth?**
A: Yes. If you laser print your photo onto the shiny side of the a label’s backing paper (you have to peel off and discard/use elsewhere the actual label) you can just just peel it off after drying instead of the water and rub method!

**Q: Description states, "Usually ships within 2 to 4 months". I'm hoping that is an error because I was just about to order this.**
A: It depends on seller. If you want to order this with current seller which lead time to ships is 2-4 month, try to contact and confirm with them. It might be an error like you said. **Q: I used this to create textures for my painting and it just shrank and flattened. I thought this was suppose to give texture and high peaks. How come?**
A: Firstly, the product will flatten out on a flat surface as it dries - this is an unavoidable effect of gravity. "High peaks" must be carefully sculpted and then reshaped while drying - consider drying your piece upside down. Let gravity do its work. Secondly, this product is designed to be used with other Liquitex acrylic paints - if you're mixing it with another type of paint, an unfavorable chemical reaction may be affecting your desired result. The same holds true if you are applying it over a painted surface which has dried. Third, you could consider adding a stiffening agent, such as quick setting acrylic adhesive, to your mixture. This will force the gel to "set up" quickly and stiffen. Experiment with a little bit of material first.

**Q: After I transfer a photo, can I use this on top as a finish or is it just for the transfer process?**
A: You use it as a top coat, it dries clear and works as a seal
