When I did my research on what brand I wanted to purchase it seemed that the so-called "top brands" were quite expensive and the ratings were not all that great. My life experience has taught me that being "unnecessarily cheap" in many cases (especially shoes and laptops) only costs more money in the long run. I own one pair of shoes and I wear them every day. Over the last 8 years, I have been buying Merrell's which, out of the gate are about 30 dollars more than some of the similar shoes in their category. I have learned that the price difference is so well worth it. I get about 2 1/2 years out of my Merrell's and I wear them every day. Even after the 2 1/2 years, they are still in fairly good condition as a backup. Other shoes I have purchased in the past I was lucky to get a year out of them and by the end of that year, they were trashed. Sorry for the long rant but it is quite relevant. Bottom line is that I am impressed with the quality of these glasses for the price I have paid. They are very comfortable, protect my eyes, and are lightweight. Only time will tell if they stand the test of time.
