Its made of a low grade synthetic material, not rubber... it feels like if you try too hard to install it ,it'll break apart crumble apart like old dried out rubber would,, but mine didn't when I installed it.. once there, it'll get little use, if at all. So it should last awhile. Would I but it agian, if it had crumbled during installation? Not on your life...
