I've had a lot in this style that just sort of randomly slop around but these are firmly affixed. This is a well-constructed shoe. Many flip-flops I've tried have the problem that the side straps are too close to the side of your foot so you end up stepping on this large knot of plastic with every step. Not so here. The straps are in the right place to actually be comfortable. My pair isn't quite broken in yet so there will be a bit of initial discomfort but I don't expect this to last long. Like any sandal, there is a brief breaking in period. Straps are very clear, the only complaint is around the logo on the top that's painted on. Would prefer that just not be there. In summary, great product and well worth the price. Everything you could ask for. *** UPDATE from two years in the future *** Structurally, these are STILL in good shape. I'm impressed. The shop we were in had this brand. I've been wearing them ever since. They last a long time and are a great price. Even though they don't offer arch support, which I normally need and require in a slipper, these get the job done! I brought a pair on a recent tropical vacation along with several other pairs of daytime summer shoes. I wore these for the whole trip. They go from beach to walkabout really well, and amazingly, my feet don't hurt at the end of the day after getting in plenty of walking. I wear a women's size 9.5 and buy the women's 9-10/men's 8-9.
