When we set out to design a professional gunsmithing lathe, we felt that we should also make a smaller starter lathe for aspiring hobby gunsmiths. Don't let the "smaller" size fool you – the G4003G 12" x 36" Gunsmithing Lathe is a serious metal lathe. What makes the G4003G a "gunsmithing" lathe is that it comes with features typically not found on standard lathes, such as the high-precision NSK bearings, large 1-9/16" spindle bore and a "spider" mount system. The spider is especially designed for supporting long workpieces that extend through the outboard end of the spindle. It looks well made, well equipped, and the price is excellent. Does anyone have experience with this?** A: i just got mine, but have not got it up and running yet. to date the only issue i have with it is that it come with the T-wrench for the 4 way tool post but is equipped with a quick change tool post so you need a 27mm wrench which it does not come with. i'll update this once i get power to it and get it running. **Q: What is the distance between centers ?** A: 36” minus the lengths of the chuck and whatever ie in the tailstock. **Q: Does this have a lubrivcation pump? Also appears to have no guard,over the chuck.** A: No pump. No guard. **Q: Whats the difference between this model and the G0750G!** A: Differences are pretty minor for me. All in all, strongly recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice piece of equipment *by D***N on May 9, 2020* This is a very nice lathe, I have had it for a few months now and am still learning how to use it, I have been fabricating items all my life so I finally decided to break down and buy this thing, I now wish I had purchased it 50 years ago, It's so much better and easier to use the proper equipment when repairing and fabricating parts. This is a great product and the service is excellent, I ended up unable to work for a couple of months after I ordered it, and customer relations called about once a week for about 2 1/2 months to see how I was doing.
