So you can lightly hit someone playfully, and it won't do any harm. However, I wouldn't want to play with it too much as the handle screws into the foam base which has a plastic socket. The handle does come with a strap, but I wouldn't trust it too much. For cheap cosplay it's great, looks excellent for the price. Good for display purposes as well.
