Clawguard Protection Tape is 11.5 mil in thickness. During our R&D phase, we tested 3 mil, 5 mil, 8 mil, and 10 mil. All failed except for the 10 mil. Our neighbor's cat Felix was able to puncture each with persistent clawing. We found that after 6 months, the 10 mil started to show signs of wear, so we added an additional 1.5 mil for added stability and protection. Total thickness of CG Protection Tape is 11.5 mil. Hope this helps! **Q: Will this work on car interior door panels that are plastic?** A: It should work. It is basically like very thick Scotch cellophane tape. I just spent 30 min putting on 2 eight-inch straps on and I'm not really happy with this. The Adhesive is a joke - during application and literally every few minutes since the edges around the fold over (which was rough becuae it did not want to bend at all) for the nose keeps popping up. And the best part is it's pulling up the paint. So it's too weak to stay put but strong enough to damage the wall. I was really excited about this and now I'm just frustrated.
