Packaged in heavy plastic with all the air sucked out, taped so it didn't come undone, and then was in a brown padded paper mailing envelope. I bought this for my grandson's 1st birthday. It's soft and although smaller than I had anticipated (measurements are shown in description of product). It came with a voice recorder, which is removable, it took 6 times to record the voice clearly but I honestly think that was my own doing. It's size is perfect for little hands to hold, but not not to push the recorder to hear the message, he's 1, that motor skill will come later. It's super CUTE!! I'm very pleased with the over all purchase and will order others.
