However, I’d suggest knowing exactly what kind of substrate you’re planning to work with before buying. I initially thought I could use this for my compost pile, but it wasn’t the best fit for that specific use case. While it does help till the debris, the larger pieces of cardboard and various "brown and green" materials constantly get tangled in the tines. The main drawback for me is that it requires frequent cleaning of the tips unless the compost is already fully decomposed. It’s a great, sturdy tool for standard garden soil, but the maintenance becomes a bit of a hassle when dealing with coarser organic matter. Overall, it’s a reliable choice as long as you're sticking to dirt and well-broken-down materials.

A: Yes it helped me pull the roots out of most places. You have to make sure your soil is soft because when I went in a hard place it bent out of place so I tossed it and went back to my shovel.
