I have recently developed ridges and imperfections on the nail plate that I am using calcium supplement for. However, I was really bummed that my nail polish wouldn't sit right on my nails, especially the lighter colors.I have used the rough surface on the file followed by the nano surface to buff the nails. I am not sure how is the work done different from a regular nail buffer except in the fact that none of my nail buffer blocks lasted me long. Both the nail buffer and the file require a lot of work to get results.Within four to five sessions my nails were looking healthy and shiny. I did have few visible scratches on the surface of the nail but they were shallow enough to be covered by one layer of base coat. However, you wouldn't get that with a nail buffer (hence the four stars).The file is not long, it's about the length of four fingers held together. I was looking on youtube at videos about how to grow nails longer and several vloggers said to use crystal files. I bought this set and I will never, ever, ever, go back to emory boards. I could tell the difference the very first time I used the file! It does not rip the nail like the emory boards do. Its a much smoother file, easy to use, and I can feel that the nail is not damaged after filing.Have had several different kinds of files but this does the best job and doesn't wear down like most files. The large one does a good job on tough toenails that are hard to cut. The large file is HUGE and its actually for your heels. I had rough heels and this product took care of it. I was and am very impressed with this set of nail files. Try them! If you want healthy nails then you have to stop using emory boards to file them.
