When it got lost at daycare, I already knew I was going to replace with the same hat- didn’t have the shark/whale print of the previous hat, but this works. It does an excellent job of protecting my baby's face from the sun; as baby sunscreen is not my best friend at the time due to how difficult it is to apply. This had does provide a sufficient amount of spf protection and in the 4 months of using it, my baby had never gotten burned.The designs on the hat are absolutely adorable, and go with a lot of outfits. The hat is light, yet well made (baby's head won't sweat in it, unlike some other hats). My toddler has worn it almost every day of the summer and it is showing no signs of wear/tear. He definitely has room to grow with it but the slightly large size has not been an issue; in fact, it probably helped provide better protection for his face and neck. He wouldn't tolerate having the string tied tightly under his chin, so we've tied it low so it hangs loosely but keeps the hat around his neck if the wind catches it. My only issue with the hat is that it is pretty light weight and does blow off easily in the wind. BUT, the light weight material dries very quickly when wet, and I wouldn't want to compromise the area of protection by having a smaller, tighter-fitting or heavier weight material... SO, I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. Plus, I recently discovered that there are toddler swim trunks with a built-in swim diaper in matching material!
