Not sure if it hangs from 2 hooks or 1 and what kind of knot is used?** A: First, I reinforced the ceiling. I ordered a spring on amazon after having no luck at local hardware stores. It holds 500lbs. and has two open ends to hook rope to steel ring mounted to ceiling. The ring has a plate with 4 holes. Simply google hammock or hanging chair hardware, you’ll see several options. The rope is so thick, I did a simple loop knot on bothe ends. I didn’t double up like in the picture because it looked so bulky. The single rope is absolutely strong enough. Hope this is helpful, it’s my favorite chair! **Q: Is a 7 and a half foot ceiling too short?** A: Yes, it is. You won’t need much rope for that height obviously. It feels fragile (to be expected) the hanging rope is not ideal and had a difficult time with hard wire.
