Around the edge is a 1/4 inch thick sticky strip that adheres to the side, not the screen. I have not ever taken mine off, but probably if I did I could clean any residue off carefully around the edges. In my opinion the surface cover is totally worth it. It does not chew up nibs like the tablet screen did. Without cover nib was shot after 2 weeks. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Will Always Buy This *by D***E on February 15, 2021* I've been using this brand of tablet protector for years, on previous tablets as well. I am someone who does art for a living as well as uses my tablet as my day to day mouse for browsing webpages. Suffice to say when Wacom started adding "paper texture" to their tablets, I was not happy. Paper texture really means sandpaper, ergo, your nibs are gonna get ground down to nothing and you'll have to constantly replace and rebuy them.I even tried buying some of Wacoms "smooth" cover plates, still textured, still sandpaper, still a waste of time.The Posrus one is large enough to cover the active area, I don't notice a decline in sensitivity or quality, and my nibs last forever. Each cover lasts me about 2 years before I have to replace it from general wear and tear.I've seen some reviews that complain about it being ugly, and sure, that's maybe true, but a tablet is a tool, not an art piece. I don't care what it looks like as long as it gets the job done. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Review after 2 protectors and several months. *by A***H on October 31, 2020* I have bought this screen twice. The reason was to preserve drawing nibs in my tablet pen, and wacom's was sold out at the time. The first screen I purchased scratched rather quickly. However my pen nib was pretty worn and had a bit of an edge, so I didn't think that was a fair test. I replaced my nib and got a fresh screen. The new nib has definitely helped, but there are still a couple small scratches in the past three months that I've owned this one, and for me, the scratches are almost as maddening as the regular tablet surface eating up the nibs. It DOES SAVE THE NIBS however. There's only the barest of hints of wear after this 3 month period. If you don't press as hard as me, maybe the scratching won't be an issue for you. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product, Saves Nibs *by J***Q on May 9, 2017* This tablet protector is fantastic. I had a smaller version for a smaller Wacom (which had been eating nibs like crazy, leading to scratches and frustration). I have used the smaller version of this exact product for a long time, up to three hours a day, and the original nib on my pen still looks like new. Mind you my nibs were being eaten and getting sharp and scratchy every two weeks prior to this. I look at the nib sometimes to check and still can't believe that the tip is as perfectly round and beautiful as the day I first put the protector on. I have to be close to 1,000 hours on it.The surface is slippy and takes some getting used to, but that's the tradeoff if you want to save nibs and protect your tablet surface. The protector stays in place with the border adhesive, but is simple to lift, move and re-stick if necessary.
