Also sent out a screw driver and extra screws, and emailed a link to a video to show how to take out the old motor and replace it. Replacement was easy. Machine is up and tumbling again! Barrel size is larger than my other tumbling barrels. Noise level isn't quiet, but it isn't outrageous either. It is compact, light weight, and for the money, it is an excellent product. The bonus is the customer service.

My husband bought me a Koolstone 2.5LB Professional Rock Tumbler Kit in October 2022. I was having so much fun, I decided to purchase a 2nd one. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find that one of the pulley wheels was damaged and an error code displaying. I contacted KoolStone support and Daisy responded within a couple of hours! After discussing the problem, KoolStone shipped out a new tumbler base and within 4-5 days I was back in business. Daisy even followed up afterwards to ensure everything was running properly now. Best customer support I've received in a long time! Overall, the kit includes everything needed to get started with rock tumbling. About 1lb of rough rocks are included, though for total beginners I recommend studying up on rock identification and separating those with a lower Mohs hardness. My kit had obsidian and sodalite which are a bit softer than the quartz, agate, and jaspers that can all tumble together well. The sample grits work pretty well. I didn’t have as much luck initially with the polish included, but as a beginner I likely may have removed them from the pre-polish stage prematurely or skimped on the wash cycle before moving onto polish. If you don’t have additional rough rocks, especially of a smaller size, be sure to use enough of the ceramic media included to cushion the rocks and transport the grit. I’ve since purchased additional grit and media in larger quantities (the Polly Plastics kit isn’t bad, but I’ve come to prefer ordering from the Rock Shed). If you’re not happy with the results, you can always return to a previous stage and try again! Patience and practice is key here :) The kit also includes various jewelry findings to make spiral cage necklaces, keychains, and more. I am grateful this kit includes extra replacement belts. In the 5 months I’ve been running these tumblers, I’ve replaced one belt on each. Overall, I’d highly recommend the KoolStone 2.5LB Tumbler kit to anyone looking to get started! I’ve had a blast trying different types of stones and methods of tumbling/polishing, and the results are just awesome. And despite some initial problems, KoolStone stands behind their products and is committed to providing amazing customer service!
