This system works exceedingly well. I've cultured kraut with a very active strain in half gallon mason jars for about four years now. Before I bought these kits, blowouts that occurred when the culture went ballistic and the weights couldn't handle the pressure were not unusual. I have three sets of these and blowouts are a distant memory. The higher the pressure gets, the harder the springs push back. Awesomeness! The airlock lids are working great. I've had no problems at all with the valves. (I hand wash everything, no dishwasher.) The stainless steel lids go on and release like silk every time compared to those rusty rings. Cleanup is a breeze. Given their quality I don't anticipate I'll ever have to replace the springs or lids. I've gotten extra silicone lid seals and airlock valves, just in case. Total game changer for me. Not going back. Thanks Trellis + Co!
