So what you are asking is will a 0.43 watt motor power a 10 watt requirement. The answer is no. (The preceding power requirement calculation does not address any added wattage requirement due to friction or drive efficiency losses which would increase the "no" to a "HELL NO") **Q: Can I use a 12V 1A adapter with this motor?** A: Depends on your application. I got 20 RPM motor: no load at 12V ~100mA. No load start-up < 200mA. If you put intermittent heavy load, then i measure > 2A. I think stall test was nearly 4A. **Q: Do these leak grease from the gear box?** A: Nope no sign of any grease leaking out yet **Q: If this motor is used as a wind turbine generator, will it output 12v at 200rpm?** A: I used mine as a hand crank phone charger that charged a battery pack. I worked great and the output will vary based on your load and speed, so it will probably have a lower voltage than 12v at 200RPM. You'll want to put it through a full bridge rectifier with a capacitor in parallel to produce a DC voltage, however the diodes and capacitor will also drop your voltage. Quieter and faster than the 100RPM motor listed. *by M***R on March 19, 2024* I built a filament respooler that called for a 100RPM motor. (not pastamatic, the original one) I bought the recommended motor but it was loud and to be honest, a bit slow for my tastes. I found this motor which is faster and quite a bit quieter. (by no means quieter, just a lot quieter than the other motor I used) I am guessing the noise is from the gear box. I can use full speed on my motor controller but it is a bit too fast. I can slow it way down and it still works. At a certain point, slow is just off.
